Kindergarten and First Grade Requirements:
A child entering kindergarten should be five years of age on or before September 1 of that school year.
A child entering the first grade should be six years of age on or before September 1 of that school year.
The following are the conditions for exceptions to this policy:
- A child with a birthday within a two-week time frame from September 1 can be considered for first grade.
- The child must take and pass a first grade readiness test.
The school board, upon recommendation from the first grade teacher, must approve the admission of the child into the first grade program
